There will be several of Douglasville/Douglas County’s most beautiful gardens participating in the Garden Tour, some of which have been featured in a number of national magazines such as “Southern Living Magazine”, other Southern Living Publications,” Back Yard Entertaining” and  “Everyday Gardening”, also  Better Homes and Gardens Publications, “Country Gardens” and “Garden Sheds & Retreats,” plus an International Magazine  “Lifestyle Block”,  just to name a few.

While visiting these gardens, you will enjoy beautiful plantings including many varieties of hydrangeas.  Several of the gardens will showcase the Penny Mac and Mini Penny hydrangeas, named for Penny McHenry.  The gardens range in size and personality with outdoor retreats, vintage collections as well as unique architectural features.  Local artists will be in a number of gardens capturing some of these elements and beautiful hydrangea blooms on canvas.  Many visitors have told us they get inspired to add additional elements to their gardens or even create a new garden at their homes.  You will leave this garden tour with ideas for your garden whether it is small or expansive.

Enjoy this spectacular exhibit of horticulture specimens, themed table design settings, miniature gardens and much more.   Our flower show has received TOP STATE AND NATIONAL AWARDS for twelve years as awarded by THE NATIONAL GARDEN CLUBS, INC., and THE GARDEN CLUB OF GEORGIA, INC.

The Douglas County Garden Clubs, Master Gardeners and many additional volunteers spend countless hours labeling and artfully arranging and placing the horticulture specimens on tables draped in beautiful white linens, each specimen in its own green container.  These volunteers make every effort to create an unforgettable event for your enjoyment.   Entries are judged and Ribbons are awarded to the top specimens in each category.

The 12 themed table designs are also created for your enjoyment with “over the top” creativity. This year, each table follows the ECLIPSE theme and will include a floral arrangement, china and other artistic elements that will be executed to “the nines”.

The miniature gardens consist of small gardens created in containers such as flowerpots, fish bowls or any other creative container the exhibitor desires in order to execute their creative miniature garden design. After enjoying this exhibit, you may want to create your own miniature garden.
