Top Gardening Festival in the South

The 14th Annual Penny McHenry Hydrangea Festival is a two-day Festival taking place at Douglas County High School at 8705 Campbellton Street the first full weekend in June.

All events are 9 AM – 5 PM on both days (Saturday, June 5 2021 and Sunday, June 6 2021) except where noted below.

Free Parking at Douglas County High School and downtown Douglasville parking deck. Free shuttles for intown events.

Garden Tour – $25.00 per person
*Tickets available for purchase day of event (Saturday, June 5 2021, 8 AM – 5 PM and Sunday, June 6 2021, 8 AM – 2 PM) at Douglas County High School, 8705 Campbell Street, Douglasville, Georgia 30134 and Douglas County Museum of History and Art, 12431 Veterans Memorial Highway, Douglasville, Georgia 30134.
* There will be several beautiful gardens on tour, some of which have been featured in national publications. One of the gardens is featured on the HGTV website. You can get a glimpse of this garden by going to SusanneHudsonHGTVgarden and then see the entire garden as a part of the garden tour.
* The gardens on tour range in size, age and feature the personalities of the garden owners. You will enjoy French influenced gardens, vintage artifacts in some, a garden train in one, outdoor

Standard Flower Show – Saturday, 9 AM – 5 PM and Sunday 12 PM – 5 PM – Free Admission
* The 14th Annual Flower Show features the Magical Revolution Hydrangea.
* Don’t miss this wonderful event which exhibits 450+ horticulture specimens as well as themed table and bed tray designs, educational exhibits and more.
* The Flower Show is executed by Douglas County Garden Clubs (Ama Kanasta Garden Club, Sweetwater Garden Club and Town and County Garden Club) and Douglas County Master Gardeners and has won top flower show in the state and nation  each year in Festival history.

Designer gardens planned and executed by garden designers – Free Admission
You will get inspired by experiencing different gardens designed for your pleasure.

Miniature Gardens in containers – Free Admission
The miniature garden exhibit will stimulate your creative senses to create your own miniature garden. Gardens are in containers such as wheelbarrows, wagons, pots, small conservatories and more.

Master Gardener’s Garden including exhibit by Bee Keepers – Free Admission
Many hours of dedicated work go into this garden with harvest feeding the hungry. Cultural Arts Council – Free Admission Guests are invited to explore the “Douglas County Art Guild” Exhibit and shop the Pop up Arts Shop. CAC satellites will be in appearance with demos and activities such as C.A.S.T., DC Connections, Sweetwater Camera Club and other satellites.
